I was lucky enough to travel to Mexico this year and found a truly inspiring organization called Pina Palmera in Zipolite, Oaxaca, Mexico. For the last 20 years, they have provides services to disabled people in the south of Oaxaca, regardless of their means. It was so touching to meet the volunteer therapists that go to local communities to help provide programs and adaptive materials to assist not only the people living with disabilities but their families as well. Some people with disability receive treatment at the center itself, and they have also built environmentally friendly huts to rent to tourists, and you can find artwork made by their patients.

Thank you for supporting such a wonderful project that is dear to my heart – Jodie.
Our goal with this project is to encourage community-through-art by featuring the work of a local artist each season.
This winter, we are pleased to be displaying the artwork of our friend and yoga student Catherine Seguin. If you are interested in her artwork, please contact her via e-mail: trokmo2005@yahoo.ca
