ADULT CLASSES      
 

Hatha
A moderate yoga class for all levels, incorporating breathing (pranayama), yoga postures (asana) and meditation/relaxation.

Gentle
A gentle hatha yoga class, poses flow gently one into the next. Extra attention will be paid to proper breathing and basic alignment.

Dynamic Flow Yoga
This is a flowing hatha yoga class with emphasis on integrating movement with the breath. Poses move dynamically from one to another creating warmth in the body and focusing the mind. Beginners are welcome.

Restorative
The focus of this class is relaxation and renewal. Using props (the wall, pillows, chairs and straps) we are able to hold poses longer and more comfortably while maintaining good alignment. Each class ends with a 30 minute guided relaxation.

Chakra Yoga
This class is a hatha yoga class with a focus on the chakras. The seven chakras are energy centers located in the body that affect every part of our being. Each week we will focus on one specific chakra. This class provides an opportunity to explore the spiritual and energetic aspects of yoga in more depth.

Yoga/Pilates
Focus is on building core strength, flexibility and grace while maintaining the meditative quality of the practice. A wonderful compliment to a traditional Yoga practice and excellent for those working through back pain or other injuries.

 

 
 
     
 
COMMUNITY CLASSES      
 

Community Classes are our way of giving back.
Our aim with theses classes to make Yoga, Qi Gong and Meditation accessible and affordable to everyone. Ambaa Yoga donates the space and clases are held by donation and all the money collected is used to support community projects within the studio such as scholarships or are donated to local charities.

Community Yoga with Ambaa Yoga
Taught by a different teacher each week, we invite teachers from our studio, as well as guest teachers from within the community to share their love of yoga. All teachers do this on a volunteer basis. It's fun and a great way to experience a variety of teachers and styles and get to know your neighbours at the same time!

Community Qi Gong with Nadia Stevens
Held every second Sunday morning 9:00-10:00 by Nadia Stevens, Qi Gong teacher, Jin Shin Do practitioner and Cranial Sacral Therapist. Fall 2008 Dates are as follows:
September 21st
October 5th, 19th
November 2nd, 16th, 30th

Community Meditation with Dharma Punx
Meeting every Sunday evening, Dharma Punx is a peer-lead meditation group. The class involves a 20-25 minute guided meditation in the vipassana tradition followed by group discussion.

 
 
     
 
FAMILY CLASSES      
 

Prenatal Yoga
This class provides an opportunity to develop greater vitality and awareness of your body that is home for two, as well as deepen your relationship with your baby. Gentle postures, breath work, vocal toning and mediation are learned to cultivate flexibility, calm and confidence in preparation for labour and childbirth. This class can help you to use yoga techniques to prepare for an active and natural birth.

Moms & Babies Yoga
A gentle yoga class for Mom and Baby. Bond with your baby and meet other Moms in the area. The focus of this class is breath, core strength and fun! We end each class with Baby yoga and Baby massage.

Moms & Babies Pilates
A great workout for new Moms! Our focus is on re-gaining core strength in a safe and fun environment for both Mom and baby.

Toddlers
For toddlers 20 months to 4 years of age. A fun class for toddler and parent. This is yoga like you've never seen it! Sing songs, dance with scarves and play yoga games. A great way to introduce yoga to young children and teach them the skills of play, focus and relaxation.

Kids (4-8yrs)
Kids Yoga (without parents). Kids will learn the basics of yoga in ways they can use in their every day life. Learning to go from 'silly to still', increasing self esteem, creativity and focus are just some of the things kids explore by doing yoga - and it's FUN!

Girls Yoga
Yoga for girls 10-14 years old. Exploring yoga in more depth, this class has teenage girls in mind. Focus in on self awareness, meditation and creativity.
